This series explores the hermetic symbolism of knowledge, transformation, and inner freedom. Drawing on the Hebrew alphabet and its corresponding tarot archetypes – Lamed (The Hanged Man) and Mem (Death) – the works navigate the liminal space between physical and spiritual realms.
Lamed embodies an act of liberation from conventional gravitational constraints, a form of spiritual levitation that opens new perspectives for the soul. It challenges established notions of space and time, representing the paradox of suspension and surrender as a gateway to inner enlightenment.
Mem, in parallel, symbolizes an inward journey marked by the spirit of the astronaut – an exploration into the deeper dimensions of the self. Connected to the element of water, this letter evokes constant flow, renewal, and openness to hidden correspondences. Rather than a final end, Mem signifies transcendental transformation, a spiritual “spaceflight” into the inner cosmos.
Together, these works articulate the dual dynamics of human existence: the interplay of pause and release, alongside inward voyage and metamorphosis. These intertwined processes are essential for attaining true knowledge and freedom. The concept of Correspondentia Occulta – the hidden correspondence between the visible and invisible – becomes perceptible here through the language of visual art.
